Traditional Turkish Bread - Recipe

Turkish bread is an unusual cupboard filler. It tastes delicious and complements various foods. Serve hot or cold with olive oil, cheese, or olives. While patience is needed, its preparation is simple.

– 1 cup of warm water, – 7 g of dry yeast, – 1 and a half cups of wheat flour, – 1 teaspoon of salt, – egg yolk, – sesame seeds (optional).

Method of preparation:

1. Stir dry yeast and warm water in a small bowl until dissolved to make the starter.

2. Add three tablespoons of sifted wheat flour and stir well. Let the yeast rise in this starter for 15 minutes.

3. After the starter rises, add the remaining water, flour, and salt. Make a homogeneous dough and let it rise for 20 minutes.

4. Sprinkle flour on the counter and place the rising dough. Make rectangular bread from each half.

5. Add them to a parchment-lined baking sheet and wait 20 minutes.
